Confraternity of Christian Doctrine is the CCD Program. This program provides religious education to over 750 children of our parish in grades 1 through 8. There is also an optional Kindergarten class with a limited enrollment. All of the teachers and staff are dedicated volunteer parishioners that provide guidance and instruction in the practices and beliefs of our faith. Classes are held on Saturday mornings for grades K through 6. There are two sessions: 9:00am to 10:30am and 11:00am to 12:30pm. Classes are held on Monday evenings for grades 7 and 8. The class time is 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The classes start the second Saturday or Monday after Labor Day through April. Each child is given a CCD book for their grade level. The children are expected to participate in class, take tests based on their classes, complete homework assignments (approximately 10-15 minutes) and will receive report cards in December and at year end. The 1st and 2nd grade is a sacramental prep class for First Confession and First Communion. The 7th and 8th grade class is a comprehensive sacramental prep class for Confirmation that also has Community Service Requirements and a mandatory attendance to a retreat for their grade level. New parishioners should fill out a registration form found on the table in the Church lobby and provide a letter of transfer for their children entering this program from their former parish. The registration provides instruction on where to send the information. If your child is entering the 1st grade you must also provide a copy of their birth certificate. Students are enrolled at the same grade level that they attend in public school based on the letter of transfer. If a letter of transfer is not received your child will then be placed in the CCD program one level below their grade level. The CCD Program is always looking for parish volunteers to teach, substitute teach or as aides. We are currently accepting registration forms for the 2011-2012 school year, which may be found on the table in the church lobby. If you have any questions regarding the CCD program, you may call Mark Sahli at 732-251-5973. |
| PLEASE NOTE: Kindergarten is only offered in Session 1 on Saturday. Kindergarten is limited to 25 students, on a first-come-first-served basis. If you have children in other grades, they will all attend in the same session unless otherwise requested SESSION PREFERENCES ARE NOT GUARANTEED. ALL NEW, INCOMING FAMILIES WILL BE PLACED IN SESSION 2. BALANCING OF SESSIONS IS NOT UNPRECEDENTED AND WILL BE DONE ON A RANDOM BASIS IF REQUIRED TO PERMIT A MORE BALANCED GROUPING OF STUDENTS IN EACH SESSION. |
