General Rules
The ICYO Board has mandated that no food (including candy) or beverages be allowed in the gym except for player drinks. All consumption of food and beverages will be done in the vestibule area right outside the gym.
For safety and insurance concerns, please do not allow small children to run along or play on the top bleachers. Disregard for these concerns will result in ejection from the gym.
Finally, sports violence is a growing issue in our society. Parents getting into fights, referees getting hurt, coaches getting killed are all recent events at youth sporting events across the country.
The ICYO Board has taken a very strong step in eliminating this behavior in our gym. We have instituted a zero tolerance policy for all coaches, parents, relatives, friends and players that enter this gym.
Either the referee or an ICYO representative has been instructed to stop the game and eject anyone (that includes players, as well as IC parishioners) from the building that does not comply with NJ State Law A446 and the ICYO Board interpretation of that law.
If that person does not leave the building immediately, the Spotswood Police will be called (no questions asked) and you will be arrested and processed to the full extent of NJ State Law A446.
It is one of our League objectives to teach our ballplayers good sportsmanship, respect for the game, and respect for each other. It is vital to our program’s success to have parents and fans set this example for our children.
Thank you!

ICYO Board Guidelines
Please remember that youth basketball is for the children. There will be a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy with regards to unruly fan behavior. Here are guidelines that we will strictly enforce this year, in the interest of enhancing everyone’s enjoyment of the game.
They are as follows:
1. Yelling out at a referee, under any circumstance, will result in the fan’s ejection from the gym.
2. Yelling at or gesturing toward opposing ballplayers will result in the fan’s ejection from the gym.
3. The use of profanity toward players, coaches, parents, or referees will result in the fan’s ejection from the gym.
4. Foul and abusive language in any form will not be tolerated and will result in immediate ejection from the gym, as well as a required appearance before ICYO’s Executive Board.
5. Violators will not be able to attend games until reinstated by the Board.
ICYO expects its parishioners and guests to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. It is vital to our program’s success to have our parents and fans set this example for our players.
